I terminated my electricity subscription contract at the beginning of October 2024, and a full year has passed without me receiving my 200 dirham security deposit back. Every time I go to the office, I'm told that the files are still being "processed" by the new regional administration in Casablanca, which took over the sector a year ago. I wonder why the company is delaying returning the deposits for so long, and I can find no logical justification other than indifference and disregard for citizens' rights. I'm not alone in this waiting; everyone who terminated their subscription contract since October 2024 is in the same boat. There are hundreds, maybe thousands of us… but it's like talking to a brick wall. Today (December 5, 2025), I went to the National Electricity Office in Settat to get my deposit back, and the answer was that the administration has been undecided for over two months about the payment method: should the deposit be paid by check or cash?
