Tanger Med Port Center | Tangier, Marokko

My wife lost her phone on 17-Feb around 12pm and told the guard at the bus terminal. She wasn’t sure she lost on the ferry or on the bus. He quickly phoned the bus driver who quickly parked the bus and ran to us with her phone. We are forever grateful! Too bad we forgot to ask the names of the guard and the bus driver.

We came into Tangier Med from Algeciras. The port terminal was clean, had a few good ATM to get dirhams, and getting through customs was fast. There were many taxis outside to go to Tangier - none had meters, but the going price was between 250MAD and 350MAD, we paid 300MAD for the hour long taxi, not too bad. I would beware of people, who are not taxi drivers, trying to help you with your luggage or try to connect you with the taxi drivers already lined up for rides. They'll want a tip for something you could easily do yourself. They tend to focus on people who look lost or confused. If you end up being whisked away with one of these people, just say "la shukran" (no thanks) or say you don't have "small money" as they'll definitely ask.

These are the "new" ultra-modern port facilities designed to replace the original port inside Tangier city. Just be aware (1) it takes at least a 30-40 minutes drive from Tangier city and (2) the sheer size of this place - once here it takes 20 minutes driving alone to traverse from front to back end of port!

Worst ever. We waited and waited in the main building as instructed and they NEVER offered the bus to the dock. So we missed our ferry and we’re forced to wait three hours for the next one. Beware and be very proactive about getting to the dock. Unbelievably unprofessional and frustrating

Our Guide was great but I felt like we were being ripped off by the taxi cab people from the airport kept wanting more money

Massive container port that also runs passenger ferries to Spain. Not that many facilities for passengers although there is a cafe on top floor and plenty of seating. Ok for a few hours.
