Al Barid Bank is a Moroccan subsidiary of the Poste Maroc group, the bank has been operational since June 8, 2010. This subsidiary of Poste Maroc, which specializes in financial services, is expected to start with 4 million customers, reaching some 6 million customers in 2013. According to the former General Manager of Post Morocco, Anass Houir Alami, Al Barid Bank will start its business with 900 agencies among the 1800 Post Morocco network. He also said, in an interview with the Moroccan newspaper L'Économiste [1], that this subsidiary will be - initially - neither a bank of companies, nor a market bank, but only a bank of individuals who collect the deposits and distribute the credits.
